Hakan Güzhan

” h g “

I was born in 1973 Mid_Summer, July the 15th which makes me an ultimate sea-lover…
The more I get older, the more I come closer to the sea…
After graduating from high school in Adana,Turkey I have moved to Ankara, capital city of Turkey for my college education adventure…
My college years were full of fun and sports and a little bit of English Language Teaching…
Having graduated from Middle East Technical University, Foreign Language Education English Language Teaching department I was thinking that teaching English would be my vocation for the rest of my life…Well, I was totally wrong…
After 2 years of teaching experience at Baskent University,Ankara I went into army as a Lieutenant…
Being an interpreter at a Turkish Army Divison of NATO for nearly two years I have made up my mind not to go back to teaching, and decided to look for other opportunities around…I quit teaching not that I did not like it, but I found that I did not want to teach the same grammar rules for 20 years in my future life…

I have started writing poems, essays and short stories in 1988…
I also wanted to have a look through the window of arts and started to train myself in painting…Unlike almost all of the art school students I skipped pencil drawings and sketches, and I totally jumped into the oil painting on canvas…I cannot name myself as an artist(yet), I am just a little boy who loves playing with colors and mixing paints with strange objects, like aluminum or silicon glues, etc…

In 1997 I have published my first book of poems called “Goddess of the Moon”. I chose one of my own canvas paintings named “Goddess of the Moon-1996″, (30cmX40) to have it printed on my first book’s cover…Since then I went on writing and painting, but did not go public with any of my works…Actually, I have written two more books, and painted several canvases until now, I am just waiting the right wind and the shining Sun to release them to the endless ocean…

Since 2001, I am in aviation business which gives me the opportunity to fly around the World and meet different people, taste different foods of various cultures…

In my web blog you will see my paintings, read my writings and witness my experiences…
So, let the lights on and let the action begin…
